Camp CO-OP: Another Year, Another Success
Posted on Jun 26, 2019
Fifty young consumers from our 10-county service territory enjoyed a full day of learning about Washington EMC and what the cooperative does to supply reliable energy to them and their families. Throughout the day, campers were exposed to the following areas of the business: Safety, Engineering, Power Supply, Security Systems, Dispatch and Operations. Campers were able to get hands-on experience working with insulated gloves, monitoring our campus for security purposes, measuring power lines for new a service, and much more. Much of the day was spent learning about the cooperative and how it operates. In addition, campers were able to challenge each other to tug-of-war and race down an inflatable slide.
“It was a great time spending the full day with these young people. We spent time learning about electrical safety, educating them on how a cooperative works and having lots of fun along the way. What an impressive group with a bright future ahead of them”, says Wendy Sellers, President/CEO.
Camp CO-OP was made possible by the following generous supporters: Country Buffet, Dairy Lane, Hardee’s of Sandersville, Kentucky Fried Chicken of Sandersville, Dairy Queen of Sandersville, Chester Dean’s, Jet Food Stores, Wendy’s of Sandersville, Chapman Trading Company, Sammon’s Insurance and Quik Mart of Tennille. Please take an opportunity to shop at any of these locally owned or operated businesses to show gratitude for their support of our youth!!
